Collection consists of printed proclamations by the governors of the Dakota Territory, Ohio, Illinois, Vermont and West Virginia, on the event of President LIncoln's assassination in 1865. Also incluedes an 1864 letter from W.K. Lielin to Andrew G. Curtain, Governor of Pennsylvania, asking for support of a bill to establish a holiday on George Washington's birthday and a printed announcement from the Gettysburg Battlefield Memorial Association, 1863-1864.
